‘Queer Amsterdam, the Pink City’ opens on Thursday 9 July at De Nieuwe Kerk. It is the major exhibition of WorldPride 2026.

A historical exhibition about love, exclusion, courage, struggle and freedom. The remarkable story of Amsterdam’s LGBTQIA+ community, told in the heart of our country, where our royal couple also pledged their love to each other.

The exhibition is created together with the community and invites everyone in. Whether you are part of it, an ally, or want to better understand this history. Because the freedom of the queer community is connected to the freedom of us all.

‘Queer Amsterdam’ is realised in collaboration with a large number of organisations, collectors, museums, experts and IHLIA LGBTI Heritage, the LGBTQIA+ archive of the Netherlands.
