Shibari is centred around the dynamic between partners and creating a scene of play where ropes are leading the player. The practice is rooted in eroticism but evolved outside Japan apart from sexual also to artistic practices and community building. Whether youโre tying or getting tied, our classes provide a safe entry point into this beautiful practice.

*Duration: 3 hours (2 hours of class + 1-hour rope-jam for free tying and socialising)

We aspire to give more space to queer, trans and gender non-conforming people of color and immigrants, as organising team we would like to see more of our community in our space. Each class includes a space-holding person to ensure everyone feels welcome and supported.

๐ฝ๐๐ค ๐ค๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐ฉ๐๐๐๐๐๐ง: Sheโs the founder of RopeLounge and has been teaching shibari for over 10 years in Amsterdam. The aesthetics and Japanese approach to tying have a great appeal to her. Generally she likes the more challenging way of tying and enjoys seeing her partners suffer in her ropes. From an educational point of view she likes to focus both on the technical part for safety reasons and the playful part for fun.
