    Kissable Screens, a monthly sex positive screening of Cavia, will recall films that were presented at Porn Film Festival Amsterdam 2026. It is a favourable moment to gain a new perspective on Pornography which can be artistic, political, moving, thought-provoking and a catalyst for self-discovery.

    Can you desire someone who isn’t there? Ghosts of the past, people we never met in person, someone who only lives in our memories, frozen in time. Separated from us by oceans, borders, death, break-ups and other foul plot twists of life. How to love them in the face of their silence? Are we still allowed to imagine them naked, continue the conversation, look through the traces they left behind? A smell on our skin, scribbles in the sidelines of a book, a song, a hair, a voice note. Phantom loves we still feel near in their absence.

    Southern Sorceresses volgt de optredens en improvisaties van zeven queer artiesten door de straten van het centrum van SĂŁo Paulo in een filmische ervaring die de hardnekkigheid van vooroordelen over gender en ras zichtbaar maakt. Centraal in dit veelstemmige verhaal staat het belang van politiek verzet door middel van allianties van gezamenlijke strijd tussen LGBTQIA+-collectieven, zwarte mensen, inheemse volkeren en dakloze arbeiders.

    In Ouvidor, het grootste kunstkraakpand van Latijns Amerika, leven 120 kunstenaars uit verschillende landen samen in een levendige micromaatschappij in SĂŁo Paulo, waar elk van de 13 verdiepingen functioneert als een aparte wijk die gewijd is aan een andere vorm van artistieke expressie. Terwijl ze zich verzetten tegen voortdurende dreigingen van uitzetting door de Braziliaanse regering met fascistische neigingen, worden de interne spanningen aangewakkerd door de sponsoring van hun Art Biennial door Red Bull.

    The Watermelon Woman is een mijlpaal in de New Queer Cinema van de jaren 90, een tijdperk van queer experimenten met filmtaal. Deze veelal low-budget indie-films werden gekenmerkt door excessen, oneerbiedigheid en het revolutionaire cynisme van de aids-epidemie. De eerste speelfilm van Cheryl Dunye, en tevens de eerste speelfilm ooit geregisseerd door een zwarte lesbische vrouw, vertelt het verhaal van Cheryl, een jonge zwarte lesbische vrouw die overdag in een videotheek werkt en tegelijkertijd een film probeert te maken over Fae Richards, een zwarte actrice uit de jaren 30 die bekend stond om haar vertolking van de stereotiepe 'mammy'-rollen die in die periode vaak aan zwarte actrices werden toegewezen. Een speciale vertoning op een speciale dag!

    We are honoured to share Shu Lea Cheang’s monumental 1994 sci-fi debut, Fresh Kill, as part of the ongoing fundraising efforts to support our friends and neighbours at Pamela, a queer bar in Amsterdam West.

    Shu Lea Cheang has spent her career creating works that elegantly grapple with the complexities of activism, racial and sexual politics, critical media theory, and erotic exploration. Her first feature, made in collaboration with Sarita Choudhury, Erin McMurtry, Vernon Reid, and Pedro Pietri, among many other cultural icons, shimmers with queer grace amidst a decaying New York of the future. Inspired by Staten Island’s notorious sprawling landfill and the Taiwanese government's nuclear pollution of Orchid Island, Cheang’s work offers us the ecofeminist wisdom we need to survive the grim realities of these times with our hearts and communities intact.

    The screening will start at 18:00 with doors open (and margaritas shaking) from 17:00.

    Vier een bloederige queer kerst met hilarische, camp horror Carnage for Christmas van Australische trans filmmaker Alice Maio Mackey. Wanneer een true crime podcaster terugkeert naar haar thuisstad, voor de eerste keer sinds haar transitie, ontdekt ze dat een mysterieuze urban legend op moordpad is geslagen. Met haar queer vriendengroep gaat ze op onderzoek.
    Maio Mackey geeft haar eigen draai aan de lange traditie van kerstslashers á la Black Christmas en Silent Night. Nog maar 20 jaar oud was ze toen ze deze film maakte, met een minimaal budget maar met een heerlijk enthousiaste crew, waaronder Vera Drew (regisseur van The People’s Joker).

    This restored 16mm print, commissioned by filmmaker Yann Gonzalez in 2016 from the original negative, screens now for the first time in Amsterdam, on loan from the CinÊmathèque française and Gonzalez himself, who will introduce the film in person. Co-programmed with the Porn Film Festival Amsterdam.

    Équation à un Inconnu is at once a defining moment and an obscure episode of gay erotic cinema. Its director, Francis Savel – an artist who worked largely within the margins of 1970s and 80s French New Wave and adult film production – sets his images to a pulsing synth score. In the film, we follow a young motorcyclist through a series of erotic encounters that circle around desire, memory, and the search for another, the “unknown” of the title. The year that followed would bring the first recorded cases of AIDS, giving Savel’s elegy of bodies an unintended prophetic weight.

    Jone is klaar om te vertrekken. Ze staat aan het begin van iets nieuws, maar voordat ze verder kan gaan moet er eerst iets worden afgerond. Jone is deel van Mollies, een queer-feministisch collectief dat tien jaar lang in een woonwagenkamp naast Ostkreuz in Berlijn heeft gewoond. Deze documentaire volgt hun laatste zomer voor de ontruiming.

    Een groep slachtoffers van misbruik binnen de balletwereld is een nieuw balletgezelschap begonnen dat inclusief, radicaal en steunend is. Onder leiding van een genderfluĂŻde balletrebel doen ze er alles aan om het podium terug te winnen. Om te slagen moeten ze vanaf nul beginnen, hun trauma's uit het verleden onder ogen zien, vechten voor gerechtigheid en het vertrouwen vinden om weer met vreugde en trots te kunnen dansen.
