What does queer parenthood look like—in all its forms, stories and possibilities?
On Saturday, October 10, we invite you to the first-ever Queer Parenthood Conference & Podcast Launch: an inspiring afternoon centred around queer parenthood, community, knowledge-sharing and imagining our futures together.
The conference brings together queer and trans (aspiring) parents, community members, creatives and professionals. Expect a keynote by Aminata Cairo, two workshop rounds, conversations and information stands offering practical knowledge and support around queer parenthood.
We will also celebrate the official launch of the Queer Parenthood Podcast: a platform centring stories, questions and perspectives on queer parenthood within Black and Brown communities.
Who is this event for?
This event centres Black and Brown queer and trans people and their experiences. People who are not queer, trans and/or Black or Brown are also warmly welcome. We kindly ask all attendees to be mindful of the space they take up and to allow the communities at the heart of this event to take the lead and have their voices centred.
Whether you are already a parent, hoping to become one, supporting queer families professionally or personally, or simply interested in the subject—you are warmly invited.
Registration and workshops
Places for the conference and workshops are limited, so reserve your free ticket in advance.
Registered participants will receive a separate email inviting them to select their preferred workshops. As capacity differs per workshop, places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Participation in your preferred workshop therefore cannot be guaranteed.
As this is the very first edition of the Queer Parenthood Conference, we are building and learning together. We appreciate your openness, flexibility and feedback as we shape this new gathering with our community.
