Galakoor presents: 'Fool Me Twice'
Fool Me Twice… But what if that second time is actually the chance to rewrite the story? In 750 years, a lot has changed in Amsterdam. Where queer love was once kept secret, today the same songs are sung again—now freely! We will sing songs by Benjamin Britten, Jake Runestad, Clara Mak, Schweelinck, Amy Beach and Samuel Barber, among others. Joost Kleppe wrote a short prelude especially for this concert.
Half of the program will be performed a cappella – vulnerable, pure, self-reliant. The other half will be supported by the warm accompaniment of pianist Gerrie Meijers.
