During the World Pride events taking place in the Netherlands, and alongside the broader Pride Week activities, SWANA Pride Day, scheduled to take place in Amsterdam on Tuesday, 4 August 2026, emerges as an independent space created by and for queer and trans communities from Southwest Asia and North Africa (SWANA) region.
The day will include the following activities:
Panel discussions and community dialogues Artivism activities Storytelling through food A community market Film screenings DJ performances Drag performances Collective art activities This gathering is grounded in an intersectional approach that recognizes oppression as layered, interconnected, and rooted in political and structural realities.
We do not separate struggles, we do not selectively practice solidarity, and we do not leave any community behind.
Our queer movements have always existed through collective survival, mutual support, and resistance that transcends borders and identities.
