    Superfan is the songwriting alter ego of Kali Priya Flanagan, a Brooklyn-based multi-instrumentalist and producer. Originally conceived as a solo project, the ambitious string arrangements developed in collaboration with cellist Omeed Almassi have become a defining feature of Superfan’s shimmering and magnetic pop sound. Following her signing to the London-based label AD 93 (Joanne Robertson, YHWH Nailgun, Dagmar Zuniga), the three recent singles — ‘Miss W Jones’, ‘Apeiron (Fantasy Football)’ and ‘Picture Of Return’ — mark the birth of “Acousticello”. With a renewed sense of confidence and an unhindered artistic vision, Kali has swapped literal lyrics for fragmented, impressionistic poetry. Heartbreak is translated into ballads full of veiled imagery and literary finesse, reflecting a deeper conviction in both his words and his voice.

We wisselen af tussen onze locaties in de We Are Queer gym Oost en West. Doe mee, verleg je grenzen, werk aan concrete doelen en vier elke mijlpaal met ons mee.     For our fifth Waterworks event, we are collaborating with some wonderful partners to offer an afternoon and evening of connection with nature, delicious food, and gentle creativity.

    We'll begin at 4pm (16h) with a free Touch Grass gathering in Rembrandtpark - a chance to connect with nature in a small group, with guided invitations. This will be hosted by Waterworks community member and nature connection guide Noa. This part of the event is free, but places are limited to keep it intimate, so if you would like to come.

    Following this, we'll gather at SUPERMERCATOR who will offer a yummy menu of soup, bread and dips, and cake with vegan options (soups €7,50 - dips €4,50 - cakes €3,50) for those who wish to eat together.

    At 7pm (19h) 60/40 Playspace will offer a creative workshop called 'What's Lost, What's Found' exploring the shape of grief with the help of reflective writing prompts and calming painting exercises. This two-hour session is a gentle invitation to reflect on the experience of loss through creativity. For this part of the evening, those who are able to are invited to pay a small fee to help cover costs.

    You are very welcome to join one or both workshops!

    Touch Grass is a nature connection initiative in Amsterdam for queer communities. It runs guided outdoor sessions in urban parks and nature reserves, where people slow down, tune into their senses, and connect with nature and with each other. It draws on queer ecology and forest bathing, and nurtures awe and softness.

    60/40 Playspace brings together art and writing for dynamic creative explorations of all sorts, and for all sorts. Our workshops are built for any skill level to join-in, experiment and have fun. The philosophy: 60 % effort, 40% letting go in an environment that's 100% supportive. Facilitated by writer Daniel J. Cecil and artist Shayna Schapp, we offer time and space to simply enjoy the process of creativity.

    Waterworks —founded by Rajni Shah and Sanne Pols—is a home for queer grief and queer grievers. We create gatherings where our widest queer community can be held by people who understand what it means to be queer and queered, people who celebrate and respect difference.     Onze Pink Oost buurtborrels voor de Indische Buurt (en omstreken) zijn altijd op een donderdag vanaf 20.00 uur. Zo hou je je vrije weekend en hoef je je na je werk niet te haasten. Zes keer per jaar willen we mensen zo bij elkaar brengen.

    Van awkward coming-of-age momenten tot diepe vragen over de toekomst, alles komt voorbij in deze solo theatervoorstelling van Emily Salvia. En dat in full drag en met een flinke dosis zelfspot. Herkenbaar, rauw en soms een tikkeltje absurd. Perfect voor iedereen die zich jong voelt en geen idee heeft waar het leven naartoe gaat.

    Voor ik 30 ben… is een ontroerende en hilarische drag cabaretvoorstelling van Emily Salvia, het alter ego van theatermaker Luuk van de Ven. In een mix van theater, sketches en muziek neemt Emily het publiek mee in een intieme, meeslepende en soms absurd grappige zoektocht naar volwassenheid, identiteit en zelfacceptatie. Wat begint als een luchtige checklist van dingen die je “voor je dertigste” gedaan moet hebben, ontrafelt zich langzaam tot een rauwe blik op trauma, seksueel geweld, angst en prestatiedruk.

Join us to learn how to make your own prints. The workshop will happen on the second floor of Nieuwland (Pieter Nieuwlandstraat 93), up one flight of stairs (no elevator).
The session will cover: drawing and/or transferring your design onto a linoleum block, carving, printing your designs on paper or fabric, which inks to use, and other tips and tricks!

    In this workshop we will explore Shibari Bondage through the lenses of Tantra, sacred sexuality and the importance of rituals, to set our minds and the space we inhabit for a journey of self discovery. Tantric techniques form the basis of this workshops approach of the Japanese art form of tying ropes, and to deepen the meaning of participants experience.
    Other aspects that will play an important role, such as the importance of touch and moving energy, consent and safety, creating our own ritual, mixing kink and esoteric practices. The practice of Sacred Kink can be seen as a form of empowerment to open the door of personal growth.

    In Queer Amsterdam: toen, nu en straks vertellen lhbtqia+ Amsterdammers over hun leven. Een leven in een vrije stad, waarin de acceptatie minder wordt. Dat blijkt uit onderzoek. Samen laten zij zien hoe het is om queer te zijn, met alle mooie en minder mooie kanten.

    Op zaterdag 14 november wordt de tentoonstelling feestelijk geopend in OBA Reigersbos. Er zijn hapjes en drankjes, er zijn interviews met de makers en geportretteerden en er is ruimte voor vragen uit het publiek.

    Geen kostuumdrama, geen mannen, niemand sterft, ze is out & proud en toch is het leven voor Emma alles behalve simpel.

    Emma heeft een alles veranderende meet-cute. Ze wordt stapelverliefd op Levi, een activistische filmstudente die van alles weet over de wereld. De wereld waar Emma nog maar weinig van denkt te begrijpen. Al snel verliest Emma zich in haar eigen activisme. Ze duwt de mensen om haar heen weg in naam van het redden van de toekomst, zelfs haar relatie met Levi komt hierdoor in gevaar. Wat het beste is voor de wereld, is niet altijd het beste voor jezelf en de mensen om je heen. Hoe houden we balans? Hoe hebben we nog lief in tijden van verandering en polarisatie?

    Omelas is gebaseerd op het kortverhaal ‘Omelas’ van Ursula LeGuin, dat aanspoort om te twijfelen aan de oneerlijke wereld waar we in leven. De kracht van het twijfelen staat in ons stuk daarom centraal. Is polarisatie niet ook de uitkomst van de overtuiging dat er één waarheid is?

    The Munch is from 18:00 till 21:00.
    The Introduction and Topic are not mandatory, if you want to skip that you can arrive at 18:00 and just join the group.

    18:00 till 18:15 - Walk in, get a drink and find the host to join our spot or tables.

    18:15 till 19:00 - 19:15 - Introduction Round and talking about the topic at hand. The topics can go from easy breasy to talking about more systemic issues. Around 18:00 tot 18:10 we’ll slowly round of the topic and make space for the other people who are joining.

De wereld waar Emma nog maar weinig van denkt te begrijpen. Al snel verliest Emma zich in haar eigen activisme. Ze duwt de mensen om haar heen weg in naam van het redden van de toekomst, zelfs haar relatie met Levi komt hierdoor in gevaar. Wat het beste is voor de wereld, is niet altijd het beste voor jezelf en de mensen om je heen. Hoe houden we balans? Hoe hebben we nog lief in tijden van verandering en polarisatie?

    Omelas is gebaseerd op het kortverhaal ‘Omelas’ van Ursula LeGuin, dat aanspoort om te twijfelen aan de oneerlijke wereld waar we in leven. De kracht van het twijfelen staat in ons stuk daarom centraal. Is polarisatie niet ook de uitkomst van de overtuiging dat er één waarheid is?
