Boxing is from and for everyone!

That's why we are introducing our specially tailored FREE Queer Classes These classes are specifically for anyone under the queer umbrella. Our queer classes are specifically aimed at rookies but everyone is welcome.

Boxing gear available and bring your own if you have.

Queerboxing offers free boxing classes for anyone who wants to learn or try boxing in a safer, community-focused space. Our class is called Basic Bitch Boxing, in the most positive sense of the word. Itโ€™s about doing something we might not be good at yet but being brave enough to try anyway.

We embrace the idea that itโ€™s okay to be a โ€œbasic bitchโ€ sometimes. You donโ€™t have to know everything or be strong or experienced. Trying, showing up, and showing up for yourself is what counts. No experience is needed, everyone can box. These lessons are especially suitable for people who are new to boxing, but if youโ€™re more advanced, itโ€™s a great way to get your basics back on track and practice your foundation.

Everyone deserves to feel safe. We aim to create a space where you can learn to box, build confidence, and hopefully feel a little safer in your body and in the world. Itโ€™s also a place to meet community, where friendships can grow.

If you have any injuries, limitations, or access needs, please let the trainer know in advance so we can adapt the exercises where possible.

  5. Shibari classes

    Lola Lieven, Rodenrijsstraat 43, Amsterdam

    Shibari classes

    Lola Lieven, Rodenrijsstraat 43, Amsterdam

These classes are designed for absolute beginners, beginners and people who already know how to coil rope, tie a single column tie and double column tie each with double wraps and a square knot.

Information about the class: Shibari is the term generally used to define Japanese rope bondage. Although it has many similarities to Western bondage (the B of BDSM), Shibari is centred around the dynamic between partners and creates a scene of play where ropes are leading the player. The practice is rooted in eroticism but evolved outside Japan apart from sexual also to artistic practices and community building. The classes are designed for all levels but especially for beginners to give a point of entry and start the journey with ropes. They will give everyone the tools to get started in their practice safely, no matter which role they prefer to take on, tying or getting tied; switching is permitted and encouraged. The event lasts 3 hours of which 2 hours are dedicated to class and 1 hour to free tying, a โ€˜rope-jamโ€™ where one can practise, tie for fun and socialise and mix with other participants. The topic of each class is different every month and will be announced in advance.

    Bio of the teacher

Eileen aka Asiana is a kinky switch with a passion for Japanese rope bondage (shibari). Sheโ€™s the founder of RopeLounge and has been teaching shibari for over 10 years in Amsterdam. The aesthetics and Japanese approach to tying have a great appeal to her. Generally she likes the more challenging way of tying and enjoys seeing her partners suffer in her ropes. From an educational point of view she likes to focus both on the technical part for safety reasons and the playful part for fun.

Kudur is a Berlin-based collective. What began as a community gathering turned into a fever dream of live performances, dramatic singalongs, sweaty eye contact, and collective release.

For the first time, with the invitation of Lola Lieven weโ€™re bringing that spirit here.

This night is a solidarity fundraiser for refugee trans masc comrades in Amsterdam.

Who & what is Fertile Ruins??

Fertile Ruins is a trans & queer performance night dedicated to artistic celebration as a means of connecting more deeply with the brutal realities of our world. It is a home for queers and our allies, where creative experimentation and political consciousness come together in an active community space. Each evening is organized in collaboration with a local activist or mutual aid organization to raise awareness and funds for their important work. During the evening, 3-4 artists from different disciplines present raw, fresh work that will make you laugh, cry, think, and sometimes (a little) pee your pants. There will be food and drinks and a musical act to get you moving.

    Queer shibari festival

    Lola Lieven, Rodenrijsstraat 43, Amsterdam

t is time to reunite again, rope nerds!
There is a lot of noise in the background of our lives:
    the noise of egos,
    the noise of collapsing systems.
With this festival, we invite you into a space of silence
a space for breathing, processing, and digesting
the dynamics of rope and bondage.
As a space, we also wish to listen to
    the unspoken,
    the unseen,
    the unattended.

There will be several workshops and performances during the festival. The program will be announced soon.

The Amsterdam Mini Shibari festival is our attempt as a common room of a neighbourhood to increase the visibility of queer/kinky programming in the Nieuw-West. We keep a certain number of community tickets for the neighbourhood queers so that they can come at discounted prices. Organising this event costs a lot, due to the fees of all facilitators, teachers and performers and the cost of building the space suitable for this festival. Hence we are aware of the expensive ticket prices. If you can not afford it and want to be in the space, write to us, and we will find possibilities, and state a very short motivation about yourself to: aysenur@lolalieven.nl

    Afro travesti cinema evening

    Lola Lieven, Rodenrijsstraat 43, Amsterdam

Eleggua Luna Laverde (@_mojana) is a multidisciplinary afrocaribbean artist from Bazurto, Cartagena, on Colombiaโ€™s Caribbean coast. Now based in Cali, she is the founder of Mojana Estudios (@mojana_presenta), an audiovisual studio centering black and afroindigenous trans and queer voices.

Her practice explores the ways black trans (travesti) and queer (marica) communities navigate ancestry, weaving together past, present, and future to both nourish her community and honor the travestis and maricas who paved the way.

She has curated Macumbas, a project that intertwines ballroom culture with yoruba spirituality and locally rooted black antipatriarcal anticolonial trans and queer practices in Cali. As a filmmaker, through music, documentary and the short film Danzan Las Luciรฉrnagas, she has ventured into the realms of Afrofuturism (although she has a lot to say about that term).

This evening, Eleggua Luna Laverde will share her work and engage in conversation with the audience.

    Time: 16:00 merienda with arepas
